12-23 May: Tua Pek Kong Festival

On the fourth month of the Lunar calendar, when the moon is full, Pulau Ubin bursts with celebrations! The birthday of Tua Pek Kong is honoured with colourful festivities.
Wayang shows go on during the day and night!
Ubin Jetty is decked out in colourful flags and lanterns, and Ubin Town is host to lavish rituals. The ancient Wayang Stage at Ubin Town comes alive with traditional opera in glittering costumes as well as more modern vibrant celebrations.

All are welcomed to experience this authentic village festival at Pulau Ubin!

26 May (Sun): FREE Hari Raya Crafts Workshop with Wan's Ubin Journal

Registration NOW OPEN! Usher in Hari Raya with our Ubin residents by joining us in our first-ever Hari Raya Crafts Workshop where you get to learn how to weave decorative ribbon ketupats and even make your own DIY Hari Raya Cards!
What's more: All the ketupats that you have woven will then be hung at the Public Jetty and along the Main Village for all the Ubin residents and visitors to see and enjoy as we welcome the festive season of Hari Raya onto the island for the first time in recent history!

26 May (Sun): Pesta Ubin Run with Coffee Tea Runners

Registration NOW OPEN! Enjoy the sights of Ubin while on a morning run with friendly folk. Join this no-frills 11-12km run around the island. Meet and run together!
Great for those who love running and want to experience the kampong and nature of our last unspoilt island, Pulau Ubin.

23 Jun (Sun): FREE Ubin Unite with Outward Bound Singapore Alumni [FULL]

Ubin Unite is an Amazing Race under the Pesta Ubin initiative, which aims to raise awareness about the local businesses in Pulau Ubin.
The Amazing Race consists of 3 main challenges, where participants would partake in engaging and interactive activities around Pulau Ubin through learning of basic outdoor skills, and knowledge on Ubin’s flora and fauna. We hope to encourage participants to revisit Pulau Ubin, which will benefit the local community of Pulau Ubin.

FREE no registration, just walk in. How did we have fun before electronic devices? Have fun on Kampung Games with U Cares Volunteers!
Come visit Pesta Ubin to find out! Have fun learning traditional Kampung games such as five stones, hopscotch, chapteh and more. Experience your parents' and grandparents' childhoods in the kampung!

29 Jun (Sat): FREE Pedal Ubin 2019 with the NUS Toddycats

Registration NOW OPEN! Gear up to explore Pulau Ubin with the NUS Toddycats! Once again, Pedal Ubin is here for Pesta Ubin 2019 – join us for a leisurely ride around our rustic island to explore its landmarks and scenery with NUS Toddycats!, volunteer guides from the Lee Kong Chian Natural History Museum, NUS.
We will cycle past old plantations, kampongs, forest, quarries and mangroves (stopping for a coconut or two of course), whilst listening to guides share captivating stories of Ubin’s wildlife, heritage and ongoing conservation efforts. Not forgetting the Ubin Way, we will also sit down at some point and get to know each other!


29 Jun (Sat): FREE Tour of Pulau Ubin native Ubinite with Singapore Heritage Society

The Bounty of Life: Pulau Ubin Tour by Mr. Chua Yong Liang
Join native Ubinite Mr. Chua Yong Liang on a tour of sites on Ubin that have shaped his family history. Learn about the diverse ways in which Ubin provided for the Chua family amidst rapid changes in Singapore during the latter half of the 20th Century. From working in pineapple and rubber plantations, to becoming quarry contractors, and later starting a fish farm and seafood restaurant, Mr. Chua will tell stories about his family's relationship with Ubin's diverse industries, and how they shaped daily life on the island.

*Please note that the tour is physically strenuous, and will require walking uphill on steep, uneven terrain.

FREE but registration required on the day itself. Limited places are available, and will be assigned on a first-come first-serve basis.

Time: 2pm - 3.30pm
Venue: Register at the Singapore Heritage Society booth at the Assembly Area.

The Chua family's history on Ubin will also be featured at the Singapore Heritage Society booth from 10am - 2pm. Drop by to find out more about their Ubin story, and see rare family photos taken on Ubin!
