This year's theme, "Supporting Ubin Businesses", aims to highlight the importance of the unique businesses found on the island. By supporting the businesses, we support the heritage that the island boasts and the people who run these businesses.

Here are some stories of the people who keep the kampong spirit of Ubin alive through their craft. Full list of Ubin businesses here.

Pulau Ubin is an island located on the north-eastern coast of Singapore. Its name is derived from its original Malay name, Pulau Batu Jubin, which means “Island of Granite Stones”. Granite quarries provided the initial draw for early local settlement, and much of the island’s granite was used for Singapore’s early developments such as Horsburgh Lighthouse and the Singapore-Johore Causeway. Pulau Ubin’s five disused quarries still exist. The rock cliffs on Pulau Ubin are ideal for abseiling. Today, Pulau Ubin is a nature and leisure island with amenities for rustic and outdoor recreational activities.
